Real Time Operation Center

Mission of RTOC

The Chandler Police Department Real Time Operations Center (RTOC) supports law enforcement operations by providing timely, accurate, and actionable intelligence to enhance officer safety, improve situational awareness, and support proactive policing efforts. We are committed to operating with integrity, professionalism, and a relentless focus on public safety. Through the ethical use of technology, we strive to increase operational efficiency, reduce response times, and assist in the effective resolution of critical incidents. Our mission is to be a force multiplier for public safety field units, ensuring the highest standards of support in service to our community.

Overview

The Real Time Operations Center (RTOC) is a technology and information center that helps support public safety operations across the city. RTOC personnel monitor active calls, major incidents, special events, and public safety concerns while working closely with officers and investigators in the field.

By using advanced technology such as camera systems, computer-aided dispatch, police mapping software, and law enforcement databases, RTOC assists with investigations and emergency response efforts. Personnel can help locate suspects, identify vehicles, review digital evidence, and provide real-time updates during active incidents. RTOC operators can also gain virtual situational awareness of an incident before officers are dispatched to the scene.

The RTOC has been in operation since 2024 and has been recognized by city, department, and community leaders for its role in supporting public safety operations. It enhances public safety across the community through the innovative use of technology, proactive problem solving, and dedicated operational support. By working closely with public and private partners, the RTOC strengthens collaboration and continues to develop new opportunities that improve real-time support and community safety efforts.
