Chandler Police Youth Drone Pilot Academy
Careers in drones and drone technology are growing rapidly, and students with early and in-depth experience with drones will have a distinct advantage in future careers that rely on the technology. The Chandler Police Department utilizes drones on a daily basis to improve and enhance the safety and security of not only the public, but also for our officers. CPD is proud to announce the first Youth Drone Academy occurring this Fall. Students will have work within small teams lead by CPD drone operators. Teams will learn about drones, flight principles, documentation, and communication skills while expanding their understanding and building interest for drone-related workforce and career opportunities. The course will culminate in a drone obstacle amongst the teams.
Who: Ages 9-12

Hours: 8 A.M – 11 A.M.
Where: Jacobson Elementrary School (1515 NW Jacaranda Pkwy Chandler, 85248)
Class is limited to 25 students. RSVPs are required. An official invitation will be sent out from CPD. Repeat participants will not be allowed.
