CHANDLER, Ariz. â€” Chandler Police arrested three men following a disturbance involving firearms at the Chandler Fashion Center Monday night.

Officers responded to the mall, located at 3111 W. Chandler Blvd., around 8:45 p.m. on Jan. 5 after receiving reports that two men were threatening another man with guns near the food court.

Officers located Jalen Thomas Bails-Bacchus (19) and Jeremiah Nicolas Bagby (22) inside a nearby retail store and found both in possession of firearms. An investigation determined the altercation began when John Lathrop (53) approached the two men, made threats, and attempted to strike them. During the confrontation, Bails-Bacchus and Bagby displayed firearms, pointed them at Lathrop, and followed him into the food court area, prompting bystanders to call 911.

No injuries were reported.

Lathrop was later arrested at his home on charges of threats and disorderly conduct. Bails-Bacchus and Bagby were arrested on charges including aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon while under the age of 21. Both were also found in possession of suspected dangerous drugs during booking, and additional charges were submitted.

This remains an active investigation, and there is no known threat to the public.
