Chandler Police Department Receives GOHS Grant

The Chandler Police Department has received an $81,500 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) to fund numerous traffic safety related programs for the period beginning October 26, 2017, through September 30, 2018. Please remember to always wear your seatbelt and designate a driver when alcohol consumption is part of your plans.

Traffic Unit to Conduct DUI Warrant Detail

On Wednesday, November 15, 2017 members of the Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Unit will conduct a DUI warrant detail.  Beginning at 8AM, officers and detectives will actively seek subjects with active arrest warrants for DUI related offenses.  Those sought will be for Chandler Police offenses only. 

IT Unit to Host Digital Safety Training

On Tuesday, November 14, 2017 the Chandler Police Department and the Phoenix Linux User’s Group (PLUG) will host a digital and physical safety training seminar.  The seminar will introduce the tools and tactics cyber-criminals use and techniques and practices you can use to protect your physical money, virtual money, and credit cards.

Detectives Continue to Search for Suspect in 2006 Homicide

On August 23, 2006, 20-year-old Bradley Eaton was shot and killed inside his home at 2711 West Shannon Drive. Two of the three suspects were arrested and convicted for their role in Bradley’s murder. But one suspect, Juan Acosta, has yet to be apprehended.

Traffic Unit to Conduct Halloween DUI Task Force

The Department’s Traffic Unit will participate in a DUI Task Force over the Halloween weekend with officers from Mesa, and Scottsdale.  The task force will begin on Saturday, October 28, 2017 and run through Halloween night, Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Please remember to always wear your seatbelt and either designate a driver or call for a ride when alcohol consumption is a part of your holiday celebration.

Detectives Need Help Identifying Sexual Assault Suspect

In August of 2014, a 12-year-old female was sexually assaulted in the parking lot of the Basha Library located at 5990 South Val Vista Drive. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male between 18 and 25 years of age. He is over five-foot eight-inches tall and, at the time of the attack, was wearing a flannel shirt, baggy jeans, and tennis shoes. Detectives from the Department’s Special Victim’s Unit (SVU) are investigating.

Detectives from the Department’s Property Crimes Unit are searching for two theft suspects. Investigators believe the same two individuals stole jewelry from stores in Chandler & Phoenix. Silent Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest or indictment of these suspects.
