Cinco de Mayo DUI Task Force

Beginning Friday, May 3, 2019 through Sunday, May 5, 2019 the Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Section will participate in a Cinco de Mayo DUI Task Force with members of the Scottsdale and the Tempe Police Departments.

House Bill 2318

House Bill 2318 is effective immediately & affects three different laws though the portion of the bill that has received the most attention is the one prohibiting use of cell phones while driving. The law has several exceptions, & police cannot issue citations until January 1, 2021. Until then, police may still stop for such violations but can only issue warnings.

Craft Spirits Fest DUI Task Force & Know Your Limit Campaign

The Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Section will hold a DUI Task Force on Saturday, April 27, 2019 during the Craft Spirits Fest. Officers will also conduct the Know Your Limit educational awareness program at the Festival on the same day.

Remember to always wear your seatbelt and call for a ride when alcohol consumption is a part of your celebration. Please, get home safe.

Chandler Police Now a Part of ‘Neighbors’ by Ring

The Chandler Police Department has joined the Neighbors app by Ring, a home security manufacturing company best known for its outdoor motion based cameras and doorbells. The Neighbors network already has millions of users and has been instrumental in catching package thieves, stopping burglaries, and keeping neighborhoods safe.

Chandler Police Recognizes Its Volunteers

The Chandler Police Department recognized the exceptional efforts of its volunteers during 2018 at its Annual Awards Volunteer Appreciation Banquet. 

Two Arrested in Chandler Homicide

On April 10, 2019 around 4:30am police discovered 33-year-old Darrell Rushing deceased from multiple gunshots wounds. 31-year-old Luis Martinez and 23-year-old Ivan Contreras were arrested a week later.

Detectives Need Help Identifying Robbery Suspects

On Sunday, March 17, 2019 around 4:30pm, an unknown male committed a robbery at the Circle K convenience store located at 955 E. Chandler Blvd. Silent Witness is offering a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest or indictment of the suspects.

Detectives Need Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect

On Saturday, March 16, 2019 and Friday March 29, 2019 an unknown male committed an armed robbery at the Safeway grocery store located at 4900 S. Alma School Rd. and Albertson’s grocery store located at 4060 W. Ray Rd., respectively. Silent Witness is offering a reward up to $6,000 for information that leads to the arrest or indictment of this suspect.
