Chandler Police Recognizes Its Volunteers

The Chandler Police Department recognized the exceptional efforts of its volunteers during 2018 at its Annual Awards Volunteer Appreciation Banquet.  The Department and the community as a whole have benefited from the dedication and service given by the members of the V.I.P program.  Over 700 members from the Chandler community have volunteered their time to serve as a part of the organization.

Congratulations to the following volunteers who were honored:

The Unit Citation award is presented to a volunteer team or unit whose actions exemplify the mission statement of the Chandler Police Department; To provide a safe community where people can live, work, and thrive.  

Members of the Lockbox Team, which includes George and Emily, are this year’s recipients of the Unit Citation award.

The Special Recognition award is presented to volunteers who consistently exceed normal job requirements with at least one specific act of outstanding performance.

The 2018 recipients of this award are Dwight Thayer and Nathan Zdilla.

The Bronze Lifetime Achievement award is presented to a volunteer who provides 1,000+ hours of service from their inception into the program.

John O’Hair-Schattenberg is the 2018 recipient of the Bronze Lifetime Achievement award.

The Silver Lifetime Achievement award is presented to a volunteer who provides 2,000+ hours of service from their inception into the program.

The recipient of the 2018 Silver Lifetime Achievement award is Leslie Oie.

The Volunteer of the Year award is presented to a volunteer for outstanding performance over a period of one year in achieving Department goals and objectives through projects, programs, or situations requiring exceptional dedication.

The 2018 Volunteer of the Year award recipient is Dale Kline.

Finally, the Lifetime Achievement award is presented to volunteers who have provided 6,000+ hours of service and have made significant long-standing contributions to the V.I.P. program and community as a whole.
