Detectives Seek Armed Robbery/ Kidnapping Suspects

On April 14, 2017, around 1:00 PM, three Hispanic males committed an armed robbery in the 1200 block of N. Mesa Drive in the City of Mesa. Later that day, around 4:00 PM, the same three Hispanic male subjects committed a second armed robbery, this time in the Best Buy parking lot at 3100 W. Frye Road in Chandler. A witness who followed the suspect vehicle was also victimized.

Cinco de Mayo DUI Task Force

The Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Unit will participate in a DUI Task Force with the Scottsdale Police Department beginning Thursday, May 4, 2017, through Saturday, May 6, 2017. A grant through the DUI Abatement Council is providing funding for this event.

Photo Enforcement Cameras Activated at Chandler Intersection

On Monday, May 1, 2017, photo enforcement cameras at the intersection of McQueen and Queen Creek Road will be activated. The intersection will be monitored by photo enforcement cameras at the approaches for northbound and southbound traffic. In all, a total of 12 Chandler intersections are monitored with photo enforcement cameras under the City of Chandler’s photo enforcement vendor, American Traffic Solutions. All of these intersections are monitored for red light violations and speeding violations.

Two Arrested for Tattoo Parlor Shooting

On Monday morning, April 10, 2017, 23-year-old Michael David Hart and 21-year-old Rafael Santos were involved in a shooting at 590 N. Alma School Rd. Both fled the scene and were apprehended the next day. Hart and Santos were booked into the Maricopa County Jail on numerous charges. Video from inside the Paisanos Barber Shop shows rounds enter the business through the front window, narrowly missing a four-year-old girl who was watching television.
