Chandler Police to Conduct Memorial Day DUI Task Force

The Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Unit will conduct a DUI Task Force over the Memorial Day weekend.  The task force will run from Thursday, May 25, 2017 through Monday, May 29, 2017.  Chandler officers will team up with officers from the Arizona Department of Public Safety along with the Scottsdale, and Mesa Police Departments to conduct saturation patrols in select areas.  The DUI Abatement Council provided grant funding for the event.

The command post on May 25th will be set-up at 2222 W. Encanto Blvd. in Phoenix.  On May 26th and 27th, a command post will be set-up at 2330 W. Rio Salado in Mesa.  The final two evenings of the task force, May 28th and 29th, a command post will be set-up at 7601 E. McKellips in Scottsdale.

Participating Chandler officers are specially trained in the detection of roadway impairment from excessive alcohol consumption and use of illicit or excessive prescription drugs.

Please remember to always wear your seatbelt and to designate a driver when alcohol consumption is a part of your holiday celebration.  A special thanks to our nation’s veterans for their service and sacrifice here at home and abroad.

Happy Memorial Day!
