In 1993, Doug Reed began his career with the City of Chandler as a sales tax auditor in Management Services. As a CPA, he completed City sales tax audits and also educated the business community on State and City sales tax law and reporting requirements. In 2001 Mr. Reed began working for the Chandler Police Department. As a Police Planning and Research Analyst, he worked three years performing financial research and analysis. Mr. Reed assisted in the preparation and monitoring of the Department’s annual operating budget as well as the Department’s spending, revenue, and multiple fund balances.
In 2004, Mr. Reed transferred to Field Operations as the Police Operations Support Supervisor. He supervised the City’s alarm program, the Police quartermaster function, the extra duty program and the fleet officer. While in this position, Mr. Reed was instrumental in the implementation of the TeleStaff program. This program has been used by the Police Department as a tool to staff extra duty job assignments, as a scheduling program to view individual schedules and team rosters, and as a program to process payroll.
In 2012, Mr. Reed was promoted to Police Support Services Manager. In this capacity he oversees both the Records and Property & Evidence sections. Mr. Reed is a leader who strives to promote effective and open communication as well as to provide excellent service to both internal and external customers.
Mr. Reed has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Management from Western International University. He is a member of the Arizona Law Enforcement Records Management Association. He is involved in his community and has coached many youth basketball and softball teams.
