Detectives Continue to Search for Investigative Lead on a 2000 Cold Case

On October 30, 2000, 33-year-old Douglas Miguel was found dead under a tree near a retention area in the 400 block of South Nebraska Street. A Medical Examiner’s report determined Douglas died of asphyxia due to strangulation. Douglas was at a local bar the previous evening and was seen in the area during the early morning hours of October 30 with a Hispanic male known by the moniker, ‘Puma’.

Traffic Unit to Participate in Scottsdale DUI Task Force

The Department’s Traffic Unit will participate with other Valley agencies in a DUI Task Force in Scottsdale from February 2, 2017 through February 4, 2017. On February 5, 2017, the Traffic Unit will host a DUI Task Force in Chandler.

Arrest made in the Dominique Vega Homicide

On Saturday, January 14, 2017, 21-year-old Chris Anthony Vega was arrested for the murder of Dominique Vega. Chris Anthony Vega, a Chandler resident, was arrested in Phoenix and booked into the Maricopa County Jail on one count of 1st Degree murder.
