Chandler Police Continue to Investigate Possible Hate Crime

In the early morning of December 30, 2016, the Chandler Police Department received a call from the residents of 4607 West Boston Street regarding a possible hate crime.  The homeowner placed a Menorah in their front yard to celebrate Hanukkah.  Sometime during the night the Menorah, which is approximately eight feet in height and constructed out of pvc pipe, was reconfigured into a swastika.

The residents called the police and a patrol officer arrived on-scene to investigate.  After taking the initial report, the officer helped the homeowners disassemble the swastika so their children would not see it.   This case is being investigated by detectives in our Criminal Investigations Bureau with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
