On Saturday, June 1, 2019 38-year-old Erin Grant was booked into the Maricopa County Jail after he assaulted two Chandler police officers.
On May 30, 2019 around 1:45 am, 32-year-old Tyler Davis allegedly assaulted a Chandler police officer & resisted arrest after attempting to rob a Quick Trip.
On May 17, 1997, 15-year-old Luis Andrea Parra died after he sustained a single gunshot wound while inside a residence located in the 400 block of North Delaware Street. The shooter, 21-year-old Venancio Cortez Miramontes, fled the residence before police arrived. Twenty-two years to the day of Parra’s death, Miramontes was arrested without incident.

House Bill 2318 is effective immediately & affects three different laws though the portion of the bill that has received the most attention is the one prohibiting use of cell phones while driving. The law has several exceptions, & police cannot issue citations until January 1, 2021. Until then, police may still stop for such violations but can only issue warnings.
