The Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Section will conduct a DUI Task Force over the Memorial Day weekend. The Task Force will run from Friday, May 24, 2019 through Memorial Day, May 27, 2019. The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) provided grant funding for the event.
Chandler officers will team up with officers from the Gilbert Police Department on Friday evening and the Scottsdale Police Department on Saturday and Sunday nights. On Memorial Day, the Department will focus DUI enforcement patrols in Chandler. The Friday command post will be located in Gilbert with a command post Saturday and Sunday night in Scottsdale. There will be no command post on Memorial Day.
Participating officers are specially trained in the detection of roadway impairment from excessive alcohol consumption and use of illicit or excessive prescription drugs. Please remember to always wear your seatbelt and call for a ride when alcohol consumption is a part of your holiday celebration. Please, get home safe.
