On July 28, 2019 around 2:00AM 27-year-old Sloane Benton was found rummaging through the inside of a vehicle parked in front of a residence in the 3600 block of South Hawthorne Way. Once Benton was detained, officers discovered he arrived in a stolen vehicle.
On July 14, 2019 around 5:00AM Chandler police were summoned to the 3200 block of West Stephens Place for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived they discovered 31-year-old Elshaymaa Elmesilhy unresponsive and with a gunshot wound to her chest. Elmesilhy was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased.
On July 11, 2019 around 8:30AM Chandler police were summoned to the 5500 block of South Four Peaks Place for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived they discovered 62-year-old Charles Vallow unresponsive and with two gunshot wounds to his chest. Vallow, a resident of Texas, was pronounced deceased on-scene.
On January 8, 2018 Chandler police were summoned to John Ormond’s residence after a family member of Ormond’s live-in girlfriend called to report they had not heard from her in weeks. When officers arrived at Ormond’s home, they found the woman bound and suffering from severe injuries.
On June 21, 2019 26-year-old Arman Nolcox II crashed his motorcycle on Clubhouse Dr. near Ocotillo Rd. & sustained critical injuries. On July 6, 2019, Nolcox II died of the injuries he sustained in the collision.
While buying and selling permissible consumer fireworks in the City of Chandler is legal, setting them off inside the City limits may not be. Setting off permissible consumer fireworks on public property – such as city streets, sidewalks, or parks – is not legal.

On Monday, June 17, 2019, the Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Section & Bike Unit will conduct a citywide pedestrian/ bicyclist education and enforcement campaign. The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) provided funding for this event.
In the early evening of Thursday, March 28, 2019, a 26-year-old male climbed the protective railing of a pedestrian bridge that spans the Price Freeway with the intent to jump. Officer A. Little arrived at the bridge and, after developing a rapport with the male, Officer Little was able to convince him to climb back to the safety of the bridge.
