Traffic Unit to Host Civilian Motorcycle Training

The Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Unit will host a civilian motorcycle training course on Saturday, April 2, 2016, in the parking lot of Hamilton High School located at 3700 S. Arizona Ave. This training program, funded by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, is designed to educate the public on the safe operation of a motorcycle.

Chief Duggan Elected to Chair the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission

On February 23, 2016, the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission (ACJC) announced that Chandler Police Chief Sean Duggan was elected as the Commission’s new Chairperson and Yavapai County Attorney Sheila Polk was elected as Vice-Chairperson at the Commission’s January meeting. Both will serve a two year term in their respective positions.

Police Identify Homicide Suspects

On January 29, 2016, 27-year-old Aaron Yaw was shot and killed inside his residence at 256 S. Springs Dr. during a drug transaction. Three suspects were identified; and one, 23-year-old Bayrd Goudeau, was apprehended by police the following day. During the first few days of the investigation, the identities of the remaining two suspects were unknown.

Citizens Academy Alumni Association Meeting

The Chandler Departments Citizens’ Academy Alumni Association, is a group of dedicated citizens who have completed the Citizens’ Academy and now are an important part of service to the department.
