Traffic Section Receives Grant for Occupant Protection Enforcement Program

The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) is partnering with the Chandler Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies to enforce Arizona’s seat belt and child safety seat laws with an enforcement mobilization beginning Monday, May 21, 2018, through Sunday, June 3, 2018.

Crash Illustrates the Dangers of Red Light Runners

On Friday, May 4, 2018 around 12:00 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred in Chandler at the intersection of Chandler Blvd. & Los Felix Dr. involving a silver Honda sedan and a white Chrysler minivan (Waymo autonomous vehicle). The operator of the Honda was cited for a red light violation.

Cinco de Mayo DUI Task Force

Beginning Thursday, May 3, 2018 through Saturday, May 5, 2018, the Department’s Traffic Section will conduct enhanced DUI enforcement throughout the city of Chandler. This will culminate on May 5, 2018 with a DUI Task Force.

Detectives Need Help Identifying Burglary Suspects

On March 20, 2018 a vehicle burglary occurred in the parking lot of 900 N. Rural Road in Chandler.  During the burglary, a credit card was stolen, which was fraudulently used at two convenience stores in Tempe. Video surveillance from one of the businesses depicts two suspects involved in the credit card fraud.

St. Patrick’s Day DUI Task Force

The Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Section will hold a DUI Task Force beginning Thursday, March 15, 2018, through Saturday, March 17, 2018.  Officers will also conduct the Know Your Limit educational awareness program at the Shamrock Fest in downtown Chandler on Saturday, March 18, 2018. 

Citizen Safety Forum

On Thursday, March 22, 2018 the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and Chandler Police Department will hold a citizen safety forum at the Springfield Community Association located at 6495 S. Saint Andrews Blvd. This event is free to the public but requires registration.

Valley Realtor Charged with Multiple Burglaries

In December of 2017, detectives with the Chandler Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit were advised of a residential burglary involving the theft of jewelry.  During the course of their investigation, detectives discovered four additional burglary incidents with a similar M.O.

Detectives Need Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect

On January 13, 2018 around 5:30 PM, a male suspect entered the Metro PCS Store located at 375 S. Arizona Avenue and threatened staff with a knife while demanding money. Silent Witness is offering a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest or indictment of this suspect.
