On August 16, 2019, around 6:15AM, a 68-year-old female was struck by an unknown make, dark-colored minivan as she crossed Ray Road near California Street. At the time of the collision, the victim was crossing Ray Road southbound and the minivan was traveling westbound in the far left lane of Ray Road. After the collision, the vehicle operator continued westbound on Ray Road.
On August 28, 2019, the victim succumbed to her injuries and passed away.
Investigators have identified a vehicle of interest. Just prior to the collision, surveillance cameras captured a dark colored minivan in the North Park Plaza parking lot located at 1004 North Arizona Avenue. This vehicle is missing the front driver’s side and rear passenger side hubcap. It appears the front passenger side window is being held up with duct tape.
