Chandler Police Department Needs Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect

On February 7, 2017, around 11:00 a.m. a male robbed the Bank of America located at 198 N. Alma School Rd.  The suspect entered the bank with a gun, passed a black leather backpack to a teller, and demanded money.  After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled on foot westbound.

Just after the robbery, a witness outside the bank saw the suspect and reported an orange or red smoke coming from the black leather backpack.  It is possible the suspect may have orange or red dye stains on his clothing, articles, or person.

Photographs of the suspect are attached.  He is a black male, between 30 and 40 years of age, and appears to have a thick build.  He is between six-foot two-inches and six-foot four-inches tall with a mustache.

At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a blue sweatshirt, blue jeans, tan work boots, and a dark gray baseball cap.  He was wearing an orange traffic vest over the blue sweatshirt and wore a black cold weather hood, which was pulled up to his bottom lip.  The suspect was also wearing dark gloves and sunglasses.

If you have any information regarding the identification of the suspect, please contact the Chandler Police Department at (480) 782-4130 or Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS (948-6377).  Silent Witness is offering a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest or indictment of this suspect.
