The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) has awarded the Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Unit with a $2,000 DUI enforcement grant. This grant will fund the purchase of phlebotomy supplies, which are used to support the Department’s DUI enforcement program.
Phlebotomy is an important aspect of the Department’s overall DUI enforcement program. Many of the officers assigned to the Traffic Unit are also Phlebotomists and conduct the majority of the Departments DUI blood draws throughout the year. Supplies necessary for phlebotomy include needles, bandages, gauze pads, sharps containers, exam gloves, and disinfectant wipes.
