On September 16, 2015, the City of Chandler’s Domestic Violence Commission hosted its 7th Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Breakfast at the City’s Community Center. Chandler Police Chief Sean Duggan was in attendance with Chandler Fire, Health & Medical Chief Jeff Clark and a number of other dignitaries. Commissioner Torey Gannon welcomed the attendees, which was followed by an invocation from Vice mayor Kevin Hartke. After an introduction of the commission from Commission Chair Sarah Youngblood, Mayor Jay Tibshraeny spoke about the importance of the Domestic Violence Commission, and all the work it, and the attendees perform to prevent domestic violence offenses. The event was highlighted with a very personal and moving discussion from a domestic violence survivor. Attendees of the event included public safety personnel, attorneys, doctors, charities & shelters, and community members committed to ending domestic violence.
A special thanks to Katie Kain and the Chandler Police Department’s Victim’s Assistance Unit for their effort and hard work.
