On November 22, 2014, the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies awarded the Chandler Police Department the prestigious Gold Standard Assessment with Excellence. In order to receive this honor, the agency was required to be in compliance with 484 mandatory standards and in compliance with over 90 percent of optional standards. This was the department’s 7th consecutive re-accreditation. In 1996, the police department sought out and received accreditation for the first time demonstrating its voluntary commitment to the highest standards of performance.
