On Saturday, October 18th the Chandler Police Department hosted our first ever Pizza-with-a-Cop event with AZ ASSIST, a non-profit organization that supports adults with autism. Over 20 members of AZ ASSIST arrived at the Department’s downtown precinct Saturday night for the chance to meet an officer and get a look inside the workings of the Chandler Police Department. Many of the attendees’ family members participated as well.
Over 16 officers from our Field Operations and Criminal Investigations Sections participated in this event. After a tour of the Department and an up-close look at our patrol cars and motors, the group sat down to a pizza dinner with cookies for dessert! During the meal, members of the Department hosted a question and answer session that was very beneficial and informative for everybody involved. It was truly a wonderful evening.
