On Tuesday March 4, 2014 around 10:45pm a shooting occurred at the 200 block of North Exeter Street in Chandler. A vehicle described by witnesses as an older model Cadillac pulled up to the residence. Occupants inside the vehicle fired multiple rounds at the house. A handful of people, including three children under the age of five, were inside when the shooting occurred.
Officers located the vehicle fleeing the scene. A police pursuit ensued leading Chandler officers onto Interstate 10 and, eventually, into Phoenix. Officers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety assisted the pursuing Chandler officers by successfully deploying stop sticks, while the suspect vehicle was traveling on I-10. The vehicle continued to the intersection of 43rd Avenue and Van Buren Street in Phoenix before police were able to take custody of the occupants.
In all, four suspects were located inside the vehicle. They have been identified as 27-year-old Martin Recio, 27-year-old Lonell Soliz, 24-year-old Yvette Lopez, and 20-year-old Clarisa Odell. All suspects are Phoenix residents and were booked into the Maricopa County Jail on the following charges: Mr. Recio and Mr. Soliz were each charged with seven counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder, three counts of Endangerment, and one count of Drive by Shooting, Possessing a Weapon by a Prohibited Person, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Assisting in a Criminal Syndicate/Street Gang. Mr. Soliz received an additional charge of Unlawful Flight from a Law Enforcement Vehicle. Ms. Lopez and Ms. Odell were each charged with one count of Attempted 1st Degree Murder.
