On July 7, 2011, the Chandler Police Department Property Crimes Unit completed a three month long investigation of an illegal retail theft operation and transactions conducted by members and employees of the Shiha Corporation. This investigation lead to the arrests of: Sami Shiha (32 years old), Samer Shiha (23 years old) and Hane Sheiha (32 years old) on charges of possession of stolen property, trafficking in stolen property and conducting an illegal criminal enterprise.
The Chandler Police Department, working in cooperation with Safeway Corporation and Frys Food Stores were able to identify that items stolen from their businesses were being sold to Shiha Corporation at one location in Chandler (A Amigo Market, 500 E. Chandler Blvd.) and another location in Phoenix (Easy Mart, 6351 N. 16th Street), where the items were being resold at a discounted price.
