Alcohol a Factor in Fatal Collision

On July 6, 2010 at approximately 6 PM, Chandler Police responded to the intersection of Galveston Street and 56th Street in regard to a serious roll over collision. A tan colored passenger car traveling east on Galveston Street at a high rate of speed went through a stop sign and collided with a black colored SUV, which was traveling south on 56th Street. As a result of the collision, the vehicles rolled over and the driver of the SUV was ejected. The driver of the SUV was taken to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the passenger car, identified as Frank Jennings Jr. a twenty-six year old Chandler resident, has been booked into the Maricopa County Jail charged with manslaughter. It appears Jennings was under the influence of alcohol and possibly drugs.
