On June 29, 2010, at 11:00 AM, Chandler Police Property Crimes Detectives arrested Anthony R. Hamilton, a thirty-four-year old Phoenix resident, at his home located in the 1000 E. Block of Durango Street. Hamilton is suspected of being the Blue Basket Bandit and has been booked into the Maricopa County Jail, charged with organized retail theft, a class four felony and shoplifting. Hamilton is suspected of committing up to twenty different thefts from various Walgreen’s located throughout the valley and his arrest was a result of tips generated from the local media coverage of the investigation.
