The items that will be accepted for safe disposal include prescriptions, prescription patches, prescription medications, prescription ointments, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, medication samples and medications for pets.

Items that cannot be accepted include:

  • sharp needles

  • inhalers
  • aerosol cans
  • medication from businesses or clinics
  • ointments – over the counter
  • lotions – over the counter
  • liquids – over the counter

Please visit the website for the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality for medical sharps disposal information.
