In the early morning hours of Thursday, February 20, 2020, a car trailer was stolen from the Quality Inn parking lot located at 255 North Kyrene Road. Among the many items inside the trailer included two invaluable urns with the remains of the victim’s parents. The victim had traveled from Michigan and was enroute to Mexico, the planned final resting place of the victim’s parents, when the theft occurred.
The trailer was recovered at the Lone Butte Casino on the Gila River Indian Reservation. The only items left inside the trailer were the death certificates belonging to the deceased parents.
