On Monday, March 30, 2020 around 3AM, the Chandler Police Department’s Communications Section received an alarm activation from the Hong Kong Bistro located at 4990 South Gilbert Road. When the first officer arrived on-scene he observed a male walking away from the business. As the first officer contacted this individual, a second officer arrived at the business.
The individual, 42-year-old Jeffrey Schomer, had fresh lacerations to his upper body, and left arm. While the first officer spoke with Schomer, the officer at the business advised of a glass break. Along with the broken window, additional items were found in the Bistro linked to Schomer.
Schomer was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on one count of 3rd degree Burglary. He remains in custody with no bond. Schomer’s next court appearance is April 6, 2020.
