Chandler Police Launches Therapy Canine Program

The Chandler Police Department is proud to introduce its newest four legged member and announce the creation of the Therapy Canine Program. This program will be utilized to improve the psychological well-being of the department’s employees both sworn and non-sworn who are subjected to traumatic events as a part of their duties and service.

The program will also be used as a support system for victims of sexually based offenses in the newly established Chandler Family Advocacy Center.Annie is the department’s first full-time therapy dog. Annie is a Goldendoodle who was donated by Arizona Goldendoodles in July of 2018. This program is made possible by collaborators like Dr. Teri Wiblin of Faust Animal Hospital who has donated a complete puppy package including all of Annie’s vaccinations.

Annie is currently in training for therapy use and being trained by K9-Games Dog Training. K9-Games Dog Training, Arizona Goldendoodles and Dr. Teri Wiblin have graciously donated all their services for the life of Annie at no cost to the department. We are very grateful to our community partners for facilitating this program.
