Chandler Police Dismantle Drug Trafficking Organization

In May of 2017, the Chandler Police Department’s Narcotics Unit identified a drug trafficking organization involved in the distribution and sales of illicit drugs in Chandler.  The drugs were being transported from their point of origin near the Mexican border before being packaged and, finally, distributed for sales.  As the investigation evolved, detectives identified 12 individuals who were connected to the organization.

On July 24, 2018 all suspects were arrested and booked into the Maricopa County Jail.  During the 13-month investigation, detectives seized two pounds of heroin and methamphetamine, various quantities of cocaine, marijuana and fentanyl, and seven firearms.  All involved have been charged with various felonies to include Illegal Control of an Enterprise, Money Laundering, Conspiracy to Commit Possession of Narcotic Drugs, and Dangerous Drugs for Sale.

Police Chief Sean Duggan said, “The Chandler Police Department is committed to working with our community and law enforcement partners to preserve the quality of life in our neighborhoods.  Preventing opioid fatalities is a top priority and this collaborative investigation, and subsequent drug seizures, likely saved lives.”

The Department would like to thank the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for their partnership and cooperation on this investigation.
