Accreditation Assessment Team Invites Public Comment

Since 1996, the Chandler Police Department has been an internationally accredited agency through a process administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®).  On July 10, 2017, an assessment team for CALEA® will begin an on-site assessment of the Chandler Police Department for the purpose of re-accreditation.  The 2017 assessment for re-accreditation will be conducted to show the department’s ongoing commitment to excellence.  The CALEA assessment team will examine the Chandler Police Department’s policies and procedures, management, operations and support services.

A Public Information Session will be held by the Commission’s assessment team of law enforcement practitioners.  The meeting will be held on July 11, 2017, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Chandler’s City Council Chambers, located at 88 E. Chicago Street.

Your attendance and comments regarding the Chandler Police Department’s ability to comply with the accreditation standards are encouraged and welcomed.  If you are unable to attend, I invite you to share your comments by speaking to assessment team members at 480-782-4107 on July 12, 2017, between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.  Comments may also be forwarded in writing directly to the Commission:
