In the early morning hours of February 11, 2017, a white male approached an adult couple in the Lowe’s parking lot at 7100 W. Ray Road. Brandishing a handgun, the male began to yell racial slurs at the couple. The male then pointed the gun in the direction of the couple and fired before fleeing in a newer model dark-colored four-door pick-up.
The male drove across Interstate 10 into Phoenix and continued his criminal behavior. He was contacted by Phoenix police officers but fled from them and onto the Gila River Indian Community where the suspect vehicle struck a light pole, causing damage to the front-end of the pick-up.
Investigators need help identifying the male suspect and the pick-up he was driving. He is described as approximately 5’10” tall and weighing between 170 and 200 pounds. The suspect has a mustache, a noticeable pot belly, and is believed to be between 30 and 50 years of age. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, denim jeans, and athletic shoes.
A composite sketch of the suspect is attached with photographs of the suspect vehicle. Besides the front-end damage, the pick-up has a dark-colored bed cover, black wheels, and a short satellite antenna on the roof. The vehicle may have had a temporary license plate.
