California Ex-Con Sentenced for Sex Trafficking

In late January of 2015, Detectives from the Chandler Police Department’s Human Trafficking Unit conducted an undercover sex trafficking operation at a Mesa hotel.  The operation was in conjunction with the Greater Phoenix Human Trafficking Task Force, and its purpose was to identify pimps, and their prostitutes, that had recently arrived in the Valley for Super Bowl XLIX.  During the operation, 29-year-old Leon Daniels, a California resident, was arrested for Sex Trafficking.

Investigators learned Mr. Daniels had transported three females to the Valley from California for the sole purpose of prostituting them during the Super Bowl weekend.  One of the females was a juvenile. At the time of his arrest, Mr. Daniels was on probation for felony offenses out of California.

In May of 2016, Mr. Daniels was convicted of sex trafficking.  On July 1st, he was sentenced to 196 years in prison.
