Chandler Police to Conduct July 4th DUI Task Force

The Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Unit will conduct a DUI Task Force over the July 4th weekend.  The task force will run from Friday, July 1, 2016, through Monday, July 4, 2016.

On July 1st and July 2nd, Chandler officers will team up with officers from the Mesa and Scottsdale Police Departments to conduct saturation patrols in select areas of all three cities.  On July 1, 2016, the three agencies will share a command post at Mesa’s Sloan Park, located at 2330 W. Rio Salado Parkway.  The command post for July 2, 2016, will move to 7601 E. McKellips Road in Scottsdale.

Chandler officers will conduct saturation patrols in Chandler on July 3rd and July 4th.  A command post will be established at Alma School Road and Queen Creek Road on July 3rd.  There will be no command post on July 4th.

Participating Chandler officers are specially trained in the detection of roadway impairment for excessive alcohol consumption and use of illicit or excessive prescription drugs.  Please remember to always wear your seatbelt and to designate a driver when alcohol consumption is a part of your holiday celebration.
