Chandler Police to Conduct Memorial Day DUI Task Force

The Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Unit will conduct a DUI Task Force over the Memorial Day weekend.  The task force will run from Friday, May 27, 2016 through Monday, May 30, 2016.  The DUI Abatement Council provided grant funding for the event.

Chandler officers will team up with officers from the Scottsdale and Tempe Police Departments to conduct saturation patrols in select areas of the three cities on May 27th and May 28th.  A command post will be set-up at 7601 E. McKellips Road in Scottsdale.

On May 29th and May 30th, Chandler officers will conduct saturation patrols within the City of Chandler. Participating Chandler officers are specially trained in the detection of roadway impairment from excessive alcohol consumption and use of illicit or excessive prescription drugs.  A command post will be set-up at Arizona Avenue and Germann Road.

Please remember to always wear your seatbelt and to designate a driver when alcohol consumption is a part of your holiday celebration.  A special thanks to our nation’s veterans for their service and sacrifice here at home and abroad.

Happy Memorial Day!
