Chandler Police Seek Help on Animal Abuse Case

On July 24, 2015 the Chandler Police Department responded to Stonegate Park at 1650 N. Ithica Street for the report of a deceased puppy.  Further investigation revealed the puppy, estimated to be between six and eight weeks old, was abused and abandoned.  The animal, brown in color, sustained lacerations throughout its body and had a large open wound.  The puppy was believed to be either a Pit bull or Staffordshire Terrier.

Located near the deceased animal was a cardboard box that was cut to possibly serve as a crate or crib for the puppy.  The box was colored with crayons and had a blanket for bedding.  The name ‘Chewy’ was written on the box.
