In 2014, the men and women of the Chandler police department continued to carry out our mission of ensuring Chandler remains a safe community where people can live, work and thrive.

Last year, Chandler experienced a 5.3% reduction in Part-1 crimes over the year before and remains one of the safest cities in America.

  • Our Part 1 crime rate (number of serious crimes per 1,000 residents) is the lowest in nearly 30 years.
  •  Our Part I crime index (total number of serious crimes) was 6,207. The last time there were 6,200 Part 1 crimes in Chandler was in 1988 when the population was 83,000.

Not only is this a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our employees but it’s also verification of the deep rooted partnerships with our neighborhoods, our schools and our businesses.

Developing and maintaining community partnerships is the cornerstone of our system of policing in Chandler. I want to thank all of you who worked alongside us this past year helping us safeguard our city.

We realize in order for us to remain successful, we must have the confidence, support and respect of the people who live and work in our community.

We will continue to develop and strengthen partnerships in 2015 and leverage technology that will demonstrate that we are committed to implementing the best practices in policing and that we are transparent and responsive to the community we serve and protect.

I am very proud of our police department and what we accomplished in 2014 and look forward to continued successes and achievements throughout 2015.
