Chandler PD and CCYSA (ICAN) is hosting a city wide event next Tuesday evening focusing on substance abuse prevention, education, enforcement and rehabilitation.
ASU put together a 30 minute documentary on Heroin. It is called Hooked: Heroin’s Hold on Arizona. All the major media broadcasting stations will be having a state wide ‘Black-out” of their normally scheduled programs and airing the documentary. The Chandler City Council, Chandler PD, Chandler Unified School District, and the City of Chandler all decided to partner together as we focus on our healthy and safe community.
The event will be held at Chandler City Hall located at 88. E. Chicago Street on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 6:15 pm – 7:30 pm. The Mayor will kick the event off, followed by the live airing of the documentary, then a short presentation and Q & A from a three person panel (PD-Prevention-Rehab). Also, that evening there will be an open tabling portion of the event that will follow from a number of resources including CCYSA, ICAN, Chandler PD, Community Bridges, Terros, MY Sisters Place, Valley Hope, Teen Challenge and possibly even MADD.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND – EVERYONE
This event is for all community members (parents, grandparents, youth) and all community and city leaders.
See the attached flyer for more details and distribute the information to your contacts as we are trying to promote the opportunity for youth, adult and community leaders to join us on Tuesday evening to take advantage of this collaborative opportunity for a very important community wide conversation.
We hope to see all of you on Tuesday evening.
