UPDATE: New Mexico Couple Missing

UPDATE: The couple’s vehicle broke down on a forest road south of Globe. After waiting overnight in very cold temperatures the couple attempted to walk to safety. Unfortunately, Mrs. Davis collapsed and and did not survive. Mr. Davis was later located by a motorist and transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

Dana Davis (86-years-old) and his wife Elizabeth Davis (82-years-old) left Chandler on December 1, 2011 driving back to New Mexico.  The couple has not arrived home.  Friends and family are asking for help in locating Mr. and Mrs. Davis.

The couple is driving a 2001 four-door tan Buick LeSabre with New Mexico license plate LJA713.  They planned to drive home but wanted to stop in Socorro, New Mexico, to visit Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. They planned on driving state HWY 60 through Globe into Eagar, then into New Mexico.  The weather has been very bad in this area for the past four days; calls to the refuge revealed that it was closed due to weather issues.  All Arizona and New Mexico law enforcement agencies, as well as the Civil Air Patrol, have been contacted.

Dana is described as a white male, 5’10” tall and about 160 pounds.  Elizabeth is a white female, 5’02” tall and about 155 pounds.

The Chandler Police Department is encouraging anyone with information about Mr. and Mrs. Davis to call 480-782-4130.

For further information, contact Sergeant Joe Favazzo.
