Junior High Students Arrested for Making Threats Against Their Teacher

CHANDLER, AZ

On November 4, 2011 an eighth grade teacher at Santan Junior High School was alerted to a threatening note being passed around her class.  When the teacher recovered the note, she discovered that five students had written, in graphic detail, about the methods they would employ to kill her.

After an initial investigation by the Chandler Unified School District, the Chandler Police Department was notified. The suspects were arrested, processed, and released to their parents.  The five suspects – four females and one male – range in age from 12 to 13 years of age.

A county complaint has been issued against the suspects charging them each with one count of Threatening & Intimidating.  All five students are subject to school discipline.  The Chandler Unified School District advised Santan parents about the incident.
