The Chandler Police Department is currently accepting applications for the next Citizens Police Academy. Participants will learn about the daily aspects of police work and what goes on behind the scenes through interactive classes including Media and the Law, Firearms Training, Gang Awareness, Patrol Functions, K-9 Program, Criminal Investigations, Narcotics, Traffic Law, Special Assignment Unit, and Use of Force.
The 13-week Academy begins August 3, 2011, and runs Wednesday evenings from 6-9 p.m. at the Chandler Police Department Main Precinct, 250 East Chicago Street. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age (15 if accompanied by a parent); must work, live, or attend school in the City of Chandler; and must pass a basic background check.
