The Chandler Police Department Forensic Services Section received ASCLD/LAB-International accreditation on May 6, 2011 in the field of Forensic Science Testing. Accreditation is granted only after a thorough evaluation of the laboratory’s management system and technical procedures and practices. Accreditation is the result of an extensive commitment of resources and much preparation by the management and personnel of the entire program.
The Chandler Police Department is the first municipal agency in the State of Arizona to receive this type of accreditation. Accredited laboratories are expected to maintain the high standards which were required to achieve accreditation. The accreditation is for a period of five years, ending on May 6, 2016.
