9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center Internships

The Chandler 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center (ECC) is seeking internship applications to support the growing emergency reporting capabilities available to our community. There are two (2) non-paid internships currently available in the Chandler 9-1-1 ECC.

Community Outreach and Education

Reporting emergencies has advanced beyond 9-1-1 into text, picture, video, enhanced data, personal safety devices, alarms, sensors, and more. These often provide a more timely notification to emergency responders and also provide direct access to 9-1-1 for the deaf, hard of hearing, speech impaired and others unable to make a traditional phone call in an emergency. This internship will assist the 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center as we work to keep our community informed of these alternatives, assess who we need to keep informed and determine the best methods in which to do so.

Data Collection and Information Analysis

The additional emergency reporting tools newly available in the 9-1-1 ECC provides an opportunity to reassess the current processes and create a more comprehensive data collection program. This internship will assist the 9-1-1 ECC in assessing the current data collection and ensure the most appropriate data is collected. It will also explore ways to create more efficient and automated data collection processes.
