The Support Services section is comprised of two specialized units that support the daily operations of the Chandler Police Department.
The Police Records Unit was the first point of contact at the main station. In addition to providing excellent customer service, the Records Unit was responsible for processing requests for police reports, imaging documents to reports, entering and clearing warrants, taking bonds, and validating information that has been entered into the Arizona and National Crime Information Center systems. In 2019, the records Unit received and processed over 96% of a total of 10,300 police report requests within ten business days.
The Police Property & Evidence Unit received and disposed of a wide variety of items that were found, held for safekeeping, or seized during an investigation. In 2019, there were over 19,800 items received and over 30,100 items released or destroyed. The unit also held two bicycle give-away events, distributing 159 bicycles among participating charities.
